Our team has an extensive track record in exclusive sale advisory and buy-side transactions, as well as hands on issuer experience. We also advise on the acquisition and sale of distressed businesses and assets, including identifying opportunities across sectors, including hardware, software, and infrastructure, for value enhancing consolidation opportunities.


Our professionals have a high degree of market insight having lead consumer and retail sell-side capital markets teams at bulge bracket institutions over more than 20 years. We have extensive experience in the placement of private equity and debt leveraging a wide network of both retail and institutional clients. Capital is typically deployed to finance growth initiatives, make strategic transactions, provide liquidity to shareholders, and to restructure or stabilize the capital structure.

Maintaining a high level of confidentiality, we have served as advisors to boards and special committees on a wide range of options, especially with regard to strategic solutions that will minimize potential losses and provide a suitable recovery structure for the client, fund managers, and secured lenders.

With extensive IPO and secondary transaction experience, we work with management teams to form a comprehensive strategy to articulate positioning and differentiation that results in heightened investor appreciation of the story and thus increasing value and impact in the institutional investor market.

We provide fairness opinions under FINRA Rule 5150 relating to transactions between affiliated entities wherein conflicts of interest could arise between related parties.


Omar Brown, Co-Head of Human Capital Management Team 

Omar has 30+ years of experience in financial services as a senior manager in Capital Markets. Omar brings decades of strong global transaction experience across a wide range of industries with both Debt and Equity Capital raises and M&A advisory. With an intricate knowledge of financial product solutions, he works closely with clients to identify the most appropriate capital structure options to address company growth needs. Prior to Young America, He served in Senior management roles at Merrill Lynch & Co, Bank of America, Cowen & Co, BTIG and RedTail Capital markets. Omar received his BS in Economics from Amherst College. FINRA licenses 7, 63, 24.

Tom Silver, Co-Head of Human Capital Management Team 

Tom has 20+ years in human capital management and early-stage technology company experience. As a senior operating executive with issuer’s financial transaction experience, Tom has deep expertise in the human capital management industry. As part of the executive management team at Dice Holdings he led the company’s turnaround from Chapter 11 to IPO in four years. He spent three years providing recruiting and leadership advisory services at an executive search firm. In addition to human capital management, Tom led the turnaround of an early stage SAAS company. As CEO and Board Chairman, he led the company’s sale to private equity at 5x revenues. Tom received his BA in economics from Cornell University and his MBA from New York University.

Michael Kuntz, SVP-Southeast Region Coverage

Michael has 30+ years of experience, including raising over $1 billion in equity capital for both public and private companies. In addition to investment banking Michael held positions as CFO/COO for three early stage, start-up companies in the online content, software integration and broadband delivery industries. Michael received his BS in finance from Boston College and his MBA from Duke University. FINRA licenses Series 7, 63 and 79. Based in Tampa, FL.

Fernando Russo, SVP-West Coast Coverage

15+ years of experience in international trade, R/E and industrial manufacturing. 6 Years of experience in Cannabis Real Estate and Cannabis Operations. MBA from Loyola University in Chicago, Master of Science in Finance from the University of Notre Dame. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. FINRA licenses 63, 79 and 82. Santa Monica, CA.

Greg Crowell, CFA, SVP-Southwest Coverage

Greg has 25+ years of engineering experience working in the semiconductor and software sectors for companies like Intel, AT&T, NCR, and LSI Logic. He worked with Intel Capital supporting venture investments in the software and services market and has helped numerous start-ups with debt and equity raises. Greg has a BSEE from Purdue University, an MBA from the University of Colorado. FINRA licenses 7, 63, 65. Based in Santa Fe, NM.

Peter Formanek, CEO

 Peter has 30+ years of experience advising fund managers, family offices and companies. Prior to establishing Young America Capital, Peter was CFO of Southern Cross Group, which has raised $2B+ of AUM over six funds. Peter is also the Managing Partner in a wealth management focused CPA firm. He began his career as a Financial Analyst with Spear, Leeds & Kellogg (now Goldman Sachs) and as Analyst/Database Administrator at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Peter received his BS in Accounting, magna cum laude, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Bridgeport. FINRA licenses
