David Bunzel

David is a Senior Managing Director at Young America Capital, with more than 35 years of experience as an investment banker and professional investor. He has advised on over $1 billion in capital raises and M&A transactions across industrials, technology, financials, transportation, consumer healthcare, and legal cannabis, bringing deep expertise in complex equity, debt, and restructuring transactions.
David previously spent 25 years in hedge fund and mutual fund management as a CIO and Portfolio Manager. Since transitioning to investment banking in 2016, he has led multi-stage, multi-company M&A transactions, structured and executed large capital raises, and guided asset dispositions and restructurings in partnership with receivers and special servicers.
David holds an MBA in Finance from New York University and a BA in Economics from the University of Michigan. He lives in New York City and Amagansett, NY with his wife, three sons, and two dogs. He is FINRA-licensed (Series 7, 79, 63).
