Mr. Hearl currently serves as Executive Director - Advanced/ Sustainable Technologies for Young America Capital focused on capital formation and M&A engagements surrounding and at the intersection of technology, natural sciences and sustainability. In addition, he leads engagements in the sports and health fields as well as advanced energy.
Mr. Hearl is also Chairman of Elevation Energy, a Virginia boutique energy development firm.
Prior to Young America, Mr. Hearl was Managing Member of Elevation Ventures, a venture advisory and consulting firm. Before Elevation, Mr. Hearl was Founder & CEO of Pegasus Tower Company, a national wireless site development and financing company. During his tenure, Mr. Hearl and his Pegasus team developed over 300 wireless tower sites across the United States and raised over $90MM in capital to fund such efforts. Prior to Pegasus, Mr. Hearl was Co-Founder and COO of The Cumberland Group LTD, a Virginia based single family office.
Over the course of his career and the companies he has either founded or advised, Mr. Hearl has raised over one hundred thirty five million dollars ($135,000,000) in early-stage debt and equity capital through both institutional and high net worth investors.
Mr. Hearl is a commercial aircraft pilot with instrument and multi-engine ratings and is Chairman of the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center Foundation.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Virginia Tech and a Master of Business Administration Degree from Wake Forest University’s Schools of Business. FINRA Licenses 63, 79, and 82.
