Young America Capital sponsors the Climate Challenge at the University of Bridgeport
A competition for students and early-stage founders with practical ideas for cutting emissions and improving energy efficiency
MAMARONECK, N.Y. — Young America Capital is sponsoring the Entrepreneurship Foundation Climate Challenge, a competition focused on practical solutions that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve energy efficiency.
The Challenge brings together high school students, college students and early-stage entrepreneurs working on climate technology and sustainability-driven business models. Finalists present their proposals to a live panel of judges, with cash grants and in-kind advisory support awarded to selected teams.
Who competesThree judging categories
Proposals have to reduce pollution, greenhouse gases or heat released into the air, whether by making a process more efficient, producing energy in a new way, or cutting or capturing emissions. Each finalist gives a three-minute presentation followed by questions from the judges, who score the problem, the solution, the management team and the capital needed to bring it to market.
“Climate solutions require disciplined capital formation and thoughtful execution.”
