Peter Formanek receives the University of Bridgeport Distinguished Alumni Award
Presented at the university’s Knights Fest Gala during homecoming weekend
MAMARONECK, N.Y., October 5, 2026 — The University of Bridgeport presented its Distinguished Alumni Award to Peter Formanek, Founder & Managing Partner of Young America Capital, at the Knights Fest Gala on October 3. The evening, part of the university’s homecoming weekend, also honored faculty, community leaders and inductees into the athletics Hall of Fame.
Peter earned a BS in Accounting, magna cum laude, and an MBA in Finance at Bridgeport. He began his career as a financial analyst at Spear, Leeds & Kellogg and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, became a CPA, and later founded Young America Capital.

He has stayed involved with the university. Earlier this year Young America Capital sponsored the Entrepreneurship Foundation Climate Challenge, whose finalists present on the Bridgeport campus.
